Meet the judges of Copenhagen Barber Battle 2019
For the first time ever, Nordic barbers will compete against each other in what we call Copenhagen Barber Battle. To make it possible to find a winner among the eight talented competitors, these three highly professional profiles from the industry will assist as judges. Read about Adee Phelan, Kenneth Johnsson and Jorge Oppé.
Adee Phelan (UK)
Adee, who originally is from Ireland, worked as an interior designer before he started as an apprentice in Lee Stafford’s salon in Essex in his late 20’s. 18 months later, he won “British Men’s Hairdesser of the Year 2002”. After cutting David Beckham’s iconic mohawk for GQ’s frontpage prior to the World Cup in fotboll 2002, he became one of the most famous stylists in UK. He starred in the reality show The Salon on Channel 4. He opened the salon Stangeways in Essex, Bloww in London and The Cube in Birmingham. He had his own electric product line with Babyliss. Adee has just launched SKNHEAD London, one of the most hyped UK brands at the moment.
Kenneth Johnsson (SWE)
Kenneth is a 2nd generation barber, with 33 years of experience. He’s educated in London and trained as an apprentice in his father’s barbershop. He owns Frisörteamet in Kinna and works as a freelance educator specialized in traditional barbering and teaching the old school way of cutting hair. Kenneth is the Wahl Ambassador in Sweden and judge in Swedish Barber of the Year.
Jorge Oppé (UK)
Jorge started in the business at the age of 12, with a Saturday job sweeping hair in a small barber shop. He left school at 15 and started a 3-year apprenticeship at one of London’s top salons “Daniel Galvin”. He worked together with Sydney’s top barbers at “ManCave” in Australia. He recently moved to Sweden and just opened his own salon Oppé at d.brand x FRIENDS in Stockholm. Jorge works as an educator for Panasonic and is soon launching his own brand.
